I helped craft the web experience & brand identity for boxy – a storage rental service designed for students

Competition analysis

We started by researching competition in the market and looking at how different companies approach storage and how we can do it better.

User types

Boxy was a two persona product, so we had to construct cohesive experiences for two different end user types.

sitemap

Next, we created a sitemap to get a holistic view of the product we were about to build.

initial constraints

At first, Boxy started off as a product for mobile web platforms. We were not very pleased with this decision as most web traffic for a service like boxy is on a desktop.

Since we were working for a client, we had to work with what we had and initially designed mobile wireframes.

green light

After constant communication with the client, we were able to bring our point across and were allowed to switch to desktop design.

problem

The reservation page was not aligned with the rest of the product in terms of width and there was no way to filter reservations based on dates.

My approach was to build a filtering widget for all reservations on the page.

final screens

After finalizing essential components, I finished up the hi-fidelity wireframes through continuous iteration and rethinking.

brand revamp

Boxy had an existing identity which the client and us did not resonate with. We decided to give boxy a complete rebuild in terms of brand.
